[Questionnaire]

Q1. How much did you know about the relationship between gut microbiota and health?

He knew even the specialized details.

Q2. How much did you know about Gut Microbiota Transplantation (FMT)?

I once looked into it out of interest.

Q3. How did you first learn about our association’s Gut Microbiota Transplantation program?

I asked my family and acquaintances.

Q4. What was the deciding factor for choosing to undergo Gut Microbiota Transplantation through our association?

I decided to try everything I’d been curious about and everything I could do.

Q5. Before deciding to undergo the transplant, were there any points of hesitation or concerns you had?

・The cost is high.

・Does it really work?

Q6. From the time you applied for the transplant to after it was completed, was the explanation and support provided by the medical institution sufficient?

The explanations and support were thorough, allowing us to proceed with the migration after fully understanding and agreeing to the process.

Q7. After undergoing the transplant, how did your symptoms change?

It changed dramatically, but it wasn’t the change I had expected, so it was surprising.

① She stopped saying she was tired.

② My stamina improved, and I learned to swim the crawl in the swimming lessons I was taking (which had previously been just for fun), enabling me to swim over 800 meters.

Before, even during one-hour lessons, I’d sometimes quit early saying “I’m tired” or “I’m bored.” But now I can swim nonstop for two hours once a week, and I’ve even reached a speed where I can swim alongside my coach.

③ No irritability or tantrums whatsoever.

④ I’m still spinning my wheels, but I made my first friend.

⑤ My math grades improved significantly.

I’ve been getting perfect scores on the color tests lately, and it feels unbelievable.
Careless mistakes decreased, and I gained the academic ability to take the junior high school entrance exams.

It wasn’t a change, but on Monday after the first transplant (Saturday), my teacher asked, “Did you do something?” My behavior at school seemed different from before. Perhaps they thought I had started medication (like ADHD medication such as Concerta).

Q8. After the transplant, are there any lifestyle habits or mindsets you consciously maintain to support and preserve the gut bacteria that have now become your allies?

・Eat plenty of root vegetables.

・Get enough sleep.

・Sugar is not used at all in the home (though some intake occurs in school lunches, etc.).

・I hardly ever eat sweets.

・Gluten-free.

・I do not consume dairy products (I have permission not to drink milk at school either).

・Drink plenty of fluids.

・Eat plenty of seaweed.

・I don’t eat white rice (except for school lunches).

・Made with pesticide-free brown rice.

・Snacks include root vegetables, frozen blueberries or strawberries, apples, etc. (all organic).

Q9. In the future, would you consider receiving regular transplants to maintain your health?

I definitely want to continue.

Q10. Would you consider recommending the transplant to someone you know?

I would like to present it as one option.

Q11. Do you have any words of encouragement or advice for those who are about to undergo a transplant or are still unsure about it?

It’s worth a shot!

Q12. Please leave a message for the donor who provided the stool for your transplant.

Thank you.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to those who provided feedback for the publication of this article.

・When I had my gut flora balance tested at the clinic, my score was D before the transplant and B after the transplant.

・I used to suffer from constipation, but now I have bowel movements several times a day.

Regarding swimming, I can now swim the butterfly stroke.

・The situation at school has changed dramatically since the survey. Even the teachers are surprised.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete the questionnaire.
