[Questionnaire]
Q1. How much did you know about the relationship between gut microbiota and health?
I had a vague understanding of how it relates to health and illness.
Q2. How much did you know about Gut Microbiota Transplantation (FMT)?
I had no knowledge of it at all.
Q3. How did you first learn about our association’s Gut Microbiota Transplantation program?
I found out about it on the internet.
Q4. What was the deciding factor for choosing to undergo Gut Microbiota Transplantation through our association?
These are the real voices of transplant recipients (and their families).
Q5. Before deciding to undergo the transplant, were there any points of hesitation or concerns you had?
・The cost is high.
・Does it really work?
Q6. From the time you applied for the transplant until after it was completed, were the explanations and support provided by the medical institution sufficient? (Regarding the consultation process, costs, transplant details, etc.)
The explanations and support were thorough, allowing us to proceed with the migration after fully understanding and agreeing to the process.
Q7, How did your symptoms change after the transplant?
発語が少なくコミュニケーション力が弱い、こだわりが強く融通が利かない、癇癪、便秘などがありました。
<During the transplant period>
・Even when my spirits are low, I bounce back faster now.
・Morning school preparations go smoothly.
・My bowel movements have become regular.
There have been gradual changes here and there.
<After the transplant>
・I can now handle sudden schedule changes.
・Vocabulary has expanded, and natural conversation involving associations and anticipating what comes next has improved.
・Temper tantrums decreased (and if they did occur, they were brief), and I became better at shifting my mood.
・While I still have my preferences, I’ve learned to compromise.
・While often passive and easily swayed, they have become more assertive and started expressing their opinions.
Little by little, I’ve started noticing more moments where I can feel myself growing. It’s not like I see dramatic results all at once, but I definitely catch myself thinking, “Ah, I’m growing,” more often now.
Q8. After the transplant, are there any lifestyle habits or mindsets you consciously maintain to support and preserve the gut bacteria that have now become your allies?
I’m mindful of my diet. I consciously incorporate fermented foods, foods rich in dietary fiber, and seaweed. I also drink hydrogen NanoGAS® water every day.

Q9. In the future, would you consider receiving regular transplants to maintain your health?
I would like to consider it positively.
Q10. Would you consider recommending the transplant to someone you know?
I would like to present it as one option.
Q11. Do you have any words of encouragement or advice for those who are about to undergo a transplant or are still unsure about it?
For children struggling to cope, I resolved to undergo the transplant with the single-minded determination to “do everything I possibly can for them.” I genuinely believe the transplant was the right choice. While the cost is high, I hope people will think positively: “It’s a waste of time to agonize over not getting the transplant,” and “Since the risks are low and it’s good for the body, let’s go for it.”
Q12. Please leave a message for the donor who provided the stool for your transplant.
Thank you for providing me with healthy gut bacteria. I intend to nurture the bacteria you gave me with great care.
